2 Arrested This Weekend For OWI!

This past weekend Officers from the Sturgeon Bay Police Department arrested two for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). The first was a 32 year old Sturgeon Bay man who failed to stop for Officers who were out on foot patrol of the downtown area.  Officers attempted to stop the male who was on a moped after he had failed to stop for two stop signs downtown. Officers later caught up with the male and arrested the 32 year old for OWI 2nd Offense and Obstructing an Officer. The second arrested was a 43 year old male who failed to dim his headlamps.  Both were transported to the Door County Jail where they were released to a responsible party.

Officers Respond To Shots Fired

On August 28, 2011 at 2PM, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South 21st place for shots being fired. Upon arrival Officers determined from witnesses that a male had been seen shooting a rifle from the back of his residence. Officers interviewed the male in question and determined that  landscaping equipment the male was using may have been what witnesses observed. Officers would like to remind everyone it is illegal for anyone to be shooting any type of weapon off within the city limits. If caught you could face jail time or a fine.
