On August 28, 2012 at 3:30 PM, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department for a theft that had occurred in the Walmart parking lot. Upon arriving at the station the complainant states she had left her vehicle a blue 2006 Kia Optima parked in the Walmart parking lot unlocked for about 2 days. When the complainant went to pick the vehicle up she found that the vehicle had been gone through and the following items stolen from it:
1. One Tennessee license plate with identification number 961-YLH.
2. One Tennessee Title of ownership.
3. One Tennessee proof of vehicle registration.
The vehicles ignition also appeared to have been tampered with in an attempt to steal the vehicle. Officers remind citizens to lock vehicles when unoccupied.
