Governor Scott Walker signed Act 131 in January which
authorized bright or fluorescent pink as an alternative color to blaze orange
as the required color of 50% of hunting outerwear above the waist, including head
cover, during a gun deer season.
Here are some facts about the changes:
·
The only exception to wearing blaze orange or
fluorescent pick during the Deer Firearm Seasons is for waterfowl hunters and
small game hunters that are pursuing small game such as raccoons and coyotes…
during the hours of darkness.
·
Hunters can mix bright orange and pink – as long
as it still meets the 50% requirement of either or both.
·
Hunters can also wear camo pink in the same
manner provided to wear camo orange, as long as at least 50% of the outer
clothing above the waist is fluorescent pink or blaze orange.
·
This change only impacts the color of clothing
and does not change the blaze orange requirement for ground blinds on
state land.
