Sturgeon Bay Woman Arrested

On April 13, 2014 at 1:22 AM, Officers were dispatched to the AmericInn to conduct a welfare check on a woman who was bumping into walls while she walked in the hotel. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the 30 year old Sturgeon Bay woman who was intoxicated. The Sturgeon Bay woman didn't know why she was in the hotel. Officers determined that the Sturgeon Bay woman was on probation and wasn't allowed to drink. Officers administered a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) to the woman and received a .32 result. Officers arrested the Sturgeon Bay woman for a probation hold and incarcerated her at the Door County Jail.

Sturgeon Bay Woman Arrested In Disturbance

On April 6, 2014 at 2 AM, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of 12th Avenue for an intoxicated woman acting disorderly. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the woman who had been ransacking the inside of the house. After attempting to obtain clothes for the disorderly woman who was naked upon Officers arrival, she began to fight with Officers. Officers eventually were able to escort the woman to the squad car. The 33 year old Sturgeon Bay woman was arrested and incarcerated at the Door County Jail on misdemeanor charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting An Officer.

2 Men Cited In Fight Downtown

On April 5, 2014 at 1:30 AM, Officers on patrol observed two men fighting on the ground in the 200 block of Third Avenue. Officers made contact with the men and quickly deescalated the situation. Officers found that the fight began after one of the men had told the other to leave the nearby bar because he was too intoxicated. Officers cited both men a 36 year old Grant man and a 28 year old Berlin man for ordinance Disorderly Conduct.

Sturgeon Bay Man Injured In Accident

On April 2, 2014 at 3:48 PM, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Iowa and Third Avenue for a accident causing injuries. Upon arrival Officers found that a truck had struck a moped. The operator of the moped was injured. Officers learned that the truck had pulled out in front of the moped while it was travelling on Third Avenue. The driver of the truck was cited for inattentive driving. The moped driver was transported to Door County Medical Center.

Sturgeon Bay Man Arrested After Disturbance

On March 30, 2014 at 6:04 PM, Officers were dispatched to Cherry Lanes for a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers found that a female had created a disturbance inside the bar area and now refused to leave. Officers escorted the female from the bar and sent her on her way home. While investigating the matter Officers found that the females friend a 45 year old Sturgeon Bay man had been drinking with her. Officers located the Sturgeon Bay man and verified that he was intoxicated. Officers learned that the Sturgeon Bay man had absolute sobriety bond conditions. Officers arrested the Sturgeon Bay man and incarcerated him at the Door County Jail.

Sturgeon Bay Man Arrested For Bailjumping

On March 30, 2014 at 2:36 AM, Officers made contact with a male walking downtown with a alcoholic beverage in his hand. Officers identified the man as a 33 year old Sturgeon Bay man.  While talking with the man Officers found that the 33 year old had bond conditions to maintain absolute sobriety. Officers arrested the Sturgeon Bay man for Bail jumping and cited him for having a open intoxicant. The Sturgeon Bay man was incarcerated at the Door County Jail.

The phone application or “app” can be downloaded free by searching for My Police Department or MyPD in the iPhone or Android marketplace. You can also click on the images above to download the app directly for your Android or iPhone device.  The police app is available to the public free of charge and is also free of any advertisements.  Once downloaded you simply navigate to Wisconsin and select theSturgeon Bay Police Department.

“This police app is a great addition to our agency” said Public Information Officer Chad Mielke  “We can now push out notifications and alerts and the public has a variety of ways to contacts us. The goal of our MyPD app is to give the public a one stop app option with plenty of features and to open the lines of communication.”

Users can choose not only the Sturgeon Bay Police app, but they also have the option to view other police departments on MyPD by choosing a different city or state. The app defaults to the last agency viewed upon opening, this makes it easy to always open just to the Sturgeon Bay Police Department. 

The department home screen contains a number of features with more located in the bottom menu which activates upon touch or swipe.

“Our app’s submit a tip or questions and feedback features allows a user to choose a topic from the forms drop down menu that best suits them and that message will then be routed to the correct Officer.” Said Officer Mielke.   “Forms can be sent anonymously to the department, but we encourage an email address or phone number if you would like a response. Users also have the availability to upload photos with the app tip and feedback forms. “

As is the case with email, tips, and social media, our app is not for any type of emergency situation. The Sturgeon Bay Police app is for routine questions and information sharing. 9-1-1 is always the method for emergency situations or response.
