72 Year Old Algoma Man Arrested For OWI After Striking Building & Cars
On Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at 12 PM, Officers were dispatched to the Neighborhood Pub for a driver who had struck the Neighborhood Pub building and multiple parked cars. Upon arrival Officers found a silver mini van and its driver a 72 year old Algoma man in the grass near the Associated Bank parking lot. After speaking with the driver and investigating the crash, Officers arrested the 72 year old male driver for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). The driver was transported to the Door County Medical Center where he was cited and released to a responsible adult. Although no one was injured in the crash, Officers on scene found that the driver narrowly missed nearby construction workers working in the area. Officers remind everyone to take a taxi or call a responsible adult when consuming alcohol or if you have been taking prescription drugs that may affect your ability to drive.
