Officers Investigate Counterfeit Money
On May 15, 2013 at 12:07 PM, Officers were dispatched to Baylake Bank for a Forgery complaint. Upon arrival Officers found that a man had attempted to pass two counterfeit $20.00 bills at the drive through. The bank teller became suspicious when the bills didn't feel correct and came back suspicious upon sorting the money through a machine at the bank. Upon closer inspection Officers and Bank staff observed that the serial numbers on the money were also the same "IL64237506D". Officers arrested a Brussels man on a Probation Violation and transported him to the Door County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and investigators are conducting followup reference the incident.
