Officer Birkholtz Laid To Rest

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEPav489KTk :Video of Funeral Procession

As I mentioned earlier The Sturgeon Bay Police Department had sent 6 of its members to the Funeral of slain Fond Du Lac Officer Birkholtz. Many of the Officers who attended the funeral were classmates or had gone to training with Craig or Officer Williams who was shot and wounded.

The day overall was a somber one yet absolutely amazing experience...for all Law Enforcement Officers involved. As the mile long procession of squad cars made its way to the Church and afterwards to the cemetery, families with young children lined the streets of Kenosha saluting and waiving American Flags. Some reports indicate there were 550 vehicles in the procession many holding 2 Officers, some had as many as 4. For about 3 hours maybe more traffic in the City of Kenosha was at a stand still yet no one was upset many of the drivers got out of their vehicles and began taking pictures and videoing the procession through town. The amazing show of support and generosity displayed by the public was heartwarming and something that was much needed after laying to rest a brother of ours, the 49th Officer killed this year Fond Du Lac Police Officer Craig Birkholtz.
