The Sturgeon Bay Police Department would like to remind everyone that the Door County Triathlon http://www.doorcountytriathlon.com/ will be held Sunday July 17, 2011 at 8 AM. Expect partial road closures and delays around 8:30 AM for the following intersections and streets in the City of Sturgeon Bay.
Third Avenue / Memorial Drive in Sturgeon Bay
from Alabama to South 18th Street
8:30 am until 10:00 am
Southbound lanes closed
Roads east of Hwy. 42/57, including Memorial Drive east
of south 15th, South 18th Place, Utah, Cove, Canal,
Buffalo Ridge Trail, Mathey, Forest, and Brauer
9:30 am until 11:45 am
Two-way bike traffic
(one-way until 12:45 pm through the City around 8AM.
The majority of intersections listed above will be staffed by Police Officers, Community Service Officers, or Volunteers. Expect delays when traveling through the surrounding area as some streets will be completely blocked off and others will be experience delays due to the triathlon. As always if you are out traveling through the affected areas please slow down for the bikers and runners.
