Sturgeon Bay Marine Patrol Help Two Kayakers In Distress

On Sunday July 10, 2011 around 6:15 PM, Officers on boat patrol assisted two kayakers in distress.  Officers were alerted to the kayakers after a juvenile female alerted authorities that they needed assistance getting back to Pottawatomie State Park. The kayakers had gotten tired and were unable to make it back to shore, which was about 3 miles away. Officers earlier in the week were called out to investigate a boat accident, which occurred after a 33 foot boat had ran aground on Dunlap Reef causing $7500.00 worth of damage to the boat. Thankfully no one was injured in either incidents.
