Strong winds are continuing to cause damage to trees, homes, and businesses across Sturgeon Bay and the entire Door County area. Currently as of 1:00 AM Jefferson Street from 6th Avenue to 7th Place is closed for traffic due to a tree across power lines. The 700 block of North 5th Avenue is also closed due to trees completely blocking the roadway. In the county many roads are closed. Parts of Bayshore Drive are currently impassable. In northern Door County power is out in many areas and will not be restored for many hours. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
