On January 7, 2013 at 12:35 PM, Officers working on the east side of Sturgeon Bay observed a vehicle travelling on Jefferson Street with the rear passenger not seat belted. Officers stopped the vehicle and while talking with the driver detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered drug paraphernalia and drugs. Field sobriety tests were conducted on the driver a 37 year old Sturgeon Bay women, which she failed. The driver was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) and the rear passenger a 18 year old female was issued two ordinance citations for Possession of Drugs and Paraphernalia. The 37 year old driver was transported to the Door County Jail where she was booked into the jail on OWI charge.
