Come Join In The Fun, Free Bike Safety Rodeo Saturday, May 11th
Join the Door County Silent Sports Alliance and the City of Sturgeon Bay Police Department for a FREE bike safety rodeo on Saturday, May 11th. This bike rodeo is geared for children 3rd through 7th grades. Children will watch a video on bike safety; then will learn through hands-on experience about the rules of the road, hand signals, and safety. Helmet fittings and bike checks will be completed as well.
Rodeos will take place at 9:00 am, 10:15 am, 11:30 am, and 12:45 pm. Space is limited to 40 participants in each session If interested, please sign up in advance for the session of your choice at the Sturgeon Bay Police Dept., at 746-2450, Monday * Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, or call TJ Walker Middle School at 746-2806. Walk-ins are welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of a session.
Kids will need to bring their own bikes with them in good operating condition: tires inflated, seats adjusted properly, etc. Upon completion of the bike safety rodeo, children will receive a Bell Bike Helmet donated by Cellcom, and Habush, Habush & Rottier, SC.
With Bike to School Day being May 15th, now is the perfect time to learn to become a safe cyclist!
