On January 2, 2012 at 10 AM, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of 18th Place for a Vandalism Complaint. Overnight an unknown person damaged the complainants mailbox after an explosive device was thrown into the mailbox causing it to explode. Officers recovered the device (An Example Shown Above) and other related evidence left at the scene. Officers checked the area for any other damaged mailboxes, but found none.
