On September 15, 2012 at 12:37 AM, Officers on patrol of the west side of Sturgeon Bay attempted to stop a vehicle due to the registered owner being revoked due to prior offenses for Operating While Intoxicated. Upon initiating the traffic stop the driver refused to stop for Officers. Officers pursued the vehicle until the driver a 32 year old Sturgeon Bay man pulled over to the side of the roadway and ran into a nearby corn field.
The driver later cooperated with Police and admitted to fleeing from Officers. Both the driver and passenger were charged with numerous violations related to this incident.
