Release August’s HVE Results
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department and the Door County Sheriff’s Department have completed their fourth month of participation in their 2012 Seatbelt High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) Deployment, which is funded through a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety. In August, there were seven deployments covering the days of August 2, 3, 4, 10, 12, 24 and 27.
Those deployments produced the following results:
· 277 traffic stops were made during the deployments that covered 28 hours.
· 215 traffic citations were issued: 155 Seatbelt
2 Child Safety Restraint
16 Speeding
4 OAR (operate after revocation) and OWS (operate while suspended)
2 Vehicle registration
36 Miscellaneous violations
(i.e.: stop sign / no insurance)
· 150 traffic warnings were issued: 96 Speeding
14 Vehicle registration
10 Vehicle equipment
30 Miscellaneous violations
