Indecent Exposure

On Tuesday, May 26th, an officer responded to a male passed out at the intersection of North 5th Avenue and Jefferson Street.   The officer was able to wake the male who was intoxicated and slurring his words.  The male subject exposed himself multiple times while urinating.  In doing so, he was exposing himself to oncoming traffic and pedestrians in the area.  The male subject received a citation for “Urinating in Public”.  The male subject called the next day to apologize for his actions and to anyone who may have seen the exposure.

National Police Week Begins

This week from May 10th through May 16th is National Police week. National Police week was started in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, which designated this week in May as Peace Officers Memorial Day.

During this week tens of thousands of Law Enforcement Officers from across the nation will converge on Washington DC for remembrance and honor of their fallen comrades that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. This year there will be 273 fallen officers added to the nearly 20,000 other names permanently etched into the memorial’s walls.

So if you get a chance this week or in the future please go ahead and Thank an Officer for the job that he or she is doing…it just could make that Officers day or even his or her week!

Sturgeon Bay Police Honor Guard Attends Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial

The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorials mission is to remember and honor Wisconsin law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. This year Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Seversen will be officially added to the memorial. With the inclusion of Deputy Seversen 266 law enforcement officers are listed on the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial.
