HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Trick or Treat tips for kids:
  • Look both ways when crossing the street
  • Carry a flashlight, glow stick, or wear reflective strips to increase your visibility at dark
  • Make sure your costume is not dragging on the ground to avoid tripping
  • Do not enter any homes without your parents
  • Do not eat any candy until you get home to inspect it for sharp objects or opened wrappers that may be contaminated
  • HAVE FUN!
Tips for the parents:
  • Do not pass other vehicles that are stopped in the roadway as they are likely dropping or picking up kids.
  • Pay extra attention near crosswalks, intersections and along the side of the roadways as kids tend to get overly excited and dart out in the road for the house across the street
  • Drive under the speed limit for better reaction time
  • Do not use cell phones or electronic devices
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department wishes everyone a fun and safe Halloween!

Officer Gives Bullying Presentation

Officer Shew gave a bullying presentation to kindergartners at the Boys and Girls Club.   This is a great way for the Officers to teach the youth and also build a positive relationship with them.  Officer Shew joined them for snack time also and probably received some interesting questions and heard some great stories.

Running With The Cops Instead Of From Them

Officer Brandon Shew participated in a 5K Run With Cops in Oshkosh on October 5th benefiting Special Olympics.  A few hundred citizens and over 30 Law Enforcement agencies participated in this event. Over 40 squad cars lit up the night course and runners collected flashing red and blue goodies along the way. There was also a pit stop along the way where you could grab a donut. Great job to Officer Shew for placing in the top 20 and participating in such a great cause!
