On April 17, 2012 at 8:15 AM, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of N. 14th Avenue for an Accident. Upon arrival Officers observed a vehicle, which had gone into the ditch and had struck a pole. The pole and vehicle involved were severely damaged. The driver was not injured and was walking around the accident scene as Officers arrived. After interviewing the driver Officers determined the driver who had just completed working third shift had fallen asleep and had gone into the ditch. Sturgeon Bay Utilities arrived on scene to fix the pole. Officers had to shut down nearby roads for a period of time while crews worked on the pole and the extrication of the vehicle from the ditch.
