On Sunday April 8, 2012 at 2:30 AM, Officers downtown were on patrol of the alleyways when they observed a truck accelerate from the alley next to the Nautical Inn Bar. As the truck accelerated it squealed its tires. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as a 21 year old Sturgeon Bay man. As Officers were talking with the man Officers detected that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Officers conducted field sobriety tests, which the driver failed. Officers arrested the 21 year old Sturgeon Bay man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). Officers transported the Sturgeon Bay man to the Door County Jail where he was booked in on OWI 2nd Offense.
