Panhandler Arrested By Chief of Police For Bailjumping!
On Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 5:20 PM, Officers were dispatched to Pick N Save for a 62 year old female from Sturgeon Bay who was panhandling. Upon arrival Officers found that the Chief of Police had started to walk into the grocery store when he was repeatedly asked for money by the 62 year old female. Chief Porter knowing the 62 year old female was out on bond identified himself as the Chief of Police and took the female into custody for violating her bond conditions. Patrol Officers arrived on scene and transported the female to the Door County Jail where she was booked into the jail on Bail jumping.
