Officers Arrest Iowa Woman For Eluding Officers!

On Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 11 AM, Officers were dispatched to the AmericInn for a Suspicious Vehicle complaint. Prior to arrival Officers were informed that a occupied vehicle had been parked in the parking lot of the AmericInn for the past two days.  Upon arrival Officers made contact with two females who were living out of their vehicle and using the facilities at the AmericInn without permission. During the conversation with the two females the driver a 32 year old Iowa woman refused to provide identification to Officers.

Soon after the 32 year old female sped away from the location in her vehicle. During the pursuit the female drove through the red light on Duluth Avenue and proceeded into the downtown area on the west side of Sturgeon Bay.  Once downtown she attempted to go over the Michigan Street Bridge, but the bridge was open due to boat traffic. The female then pulled into the parking lot of the Maritime Museum where Officers rammed the side of the vehicle to prevent the driver from escaping the parking lot. Officers ordered the driver and passenger out of the vehicle at gun point. Due to the driver refusing to comply with Officers commands she was taken out from the car by Officers and escorted to the ground. On the ground the driver continued to resist Officers attempts to handcuff her. Once handcuffed the 32 year old woman from Iowa was transported to the Door County Jail. At the jail the 32 year old Iowa woman was incarcerated on felony eluding of an Officer, misdemeanor obstructing of an Officer, and numerous traffic violations.
