STURGEON BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our brothers and sisters at St Petersburg Police Department in Florida. One of our very own Officers lost a good friend as a result of this latest wave of violence targeted at Law Enforcement across this great country.  This nation lost two more heroes who stood for everything which is good...Rest In Peace... Police Sergeant Thomas John 'Tom' Baitinger & Police K9 Officer Jeffrey 'Jeff' Yaslowitz ... We have the watch from here.

New Years revelers keep Police busy

Sturgeon Bay Police characterize the 2011 New Years as normal, but were kept busy throughout New Years day and night. Officers responded to multiple calls for disturbances and damage to property as bar patrons enjoyed bars being open into the early morning hours.  Arrests were made throughout the night for various infractions as night shift had Police Officers downtown on foot intermingling with the bar patrons.

Both Officers were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.  The suicidal male was eventually transported to a medical facility in Green Bay for mental treatment.  The suicidal male is facing multiple charges as a result of this incident.
