Burlington Man Arrested For OWI 2nd After Nearly Driving Into The Bay!
Around 2:05 AM this morning, Officers working downtown observed a male operating a motor vehicle the wrong way on a one way. Officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle finding the driver had turned off his lights. When Officers caught up to the vehicle they observed it traveling through Stone Harbors grounds heading towards the walk way near the water. Luckily Officers were able to stop the vehicle a few feet before it would have went into the water. The driver was given field sobriety tests and failed. Officers arrested the 24 year old male from Burlington for Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense. The 24 year old was also cited for numerous other traffic violations. Luckily no one was injured, but there was an unknown amount of damage done to Stone Harbors concrete walkway. The driver was incarcerated at the Door County Jail.

2 Arrested This Weekend For OWI!
This past weekend Officers from the Sturgeon Bay Police Department arrested two for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). The first was a 32 year old Sturgeon Bay man who failed to stop for Officers who were out on foot patrol of the downtown area. Officers attempted to stop the male who was on a moped after he had failed to stop for two stop signs downtown. Officers later caught up with the male and arrested the 32 year old for OWI 2nd Offense and Obstructing an Officer. The second arrested was a 43 year old male who failed to dim his headlamps. Both were transported to the Door County Jail where they were released to a responsible party.
Officers Respond To Shots Fired
On August 28, 2011 at 2PM, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South 21st place for shots being fired. Upon arrival Officers determined from witnesses that a male had been seen shooting a rifle from the back of his residence. Officers interviewed the male in question and determined that landscaping equipment the male was using may have been what witnesses observed. Officers would like to remind everyone it is illegal for anyone to be shooting any type of weapon off within the city limits. If caught you could face jail time or a fine.

Motorcycle vs Car Accident Causes Minor Injuries
Around 6:30 PM on Thursday, Officers were dispatched to a Car vs Motorcycle accident on Egg Harbor Road at 12th Avenue. Upon arrival Officers observed a motorcycle which had struck a car. As a result of the accident the car and motorcycle sustained moderate damage. The driver of the car wasnt injured, but the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.

McNultys Bond Increased To $100,000
After hearing additional evidence gathered by Investigators regarding Christopher McNultys intentions the night he shot at Officers and engaged in a standoff with Police for over 7 hours. The judge determined McNultys bond would be increased to $100,000 cash bond due to the threat he poses to the community if he was released and the possibility of McNulty fleeing the state to avoid prosecution. McNulty is currently being held on the following charges at the Door County Jail:

[Update] Arrest Made In Connection With Attempted Burglary To East Side Home
On March of 2011 we brought you information on an attempted burglary to an east side home on 14th Avenue. Durng that incident Officers were dispatched to the residence and found pry marks on the front door of the residence. No items were missing and Officers believe the suspect fled after hearing one of the homeowners watching TV.
On July 28, 2011 at 1PM, Officers were again dispatched to the same residence for another burglary where the garage side door was broken into. Officers processed the scene for evidence and were made aware by the homeowners of surveilance cameras that had been recently installed. Investigators observed the footage and identified the suspect. Around 3 PM Officers arrested 28 Year Old Jeremy Wiedenhoeft for the following charges:

and transported him to the Door County Jail. At the jail Wiedenhoeft was interviewed by Investigators and it was found that Wiedenhoeft had entered the 14th Avenue home multiple times. While Wiedenhoeft was inside the residence he engaged in various acts while the homeowner was away. Wiedenhoeft is currently in the Door County Jail on a $5000.00 cash bond.

Concealed Carry Permit FAQs Posted
Recently Officers have been asked questions regarding the new concealed carry law. As a result I have included a list of frequently asked questions created by the Wisconsin Department of Justice regarding the Concealed Carry Law. Wisconsin Act 35 was signed into law on July 8, 2011, and published on July 22, 2011. However, the provisions regarding CCW licenses do not take effect until November 1, 2011. On November 1st 2011 the Wisconsin Department of Justice will publish the CCW Application for individuals interested in obtaining a CCW permit.

Mc Nulty Charged With Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide
After reviewing evidence taken from 337 N. Duluth Avenue residence the Door County District Attorneys Office will be charging Christopher Mc Nulty with Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide. Mc Nulty on Monday August 1st, 2011 engaged in a 7.5 hour standoff with Police Officers after he began to shoot at Officers when they conducted a welfare check on him. Currently Mc Nulty remains in the Door County jail on a $25,000 cash bond.

Dutches Bar Burglarized Overnight
Around 4:30 PM, Officers were dispatched to Dutches Bar for a burglary that occurred overnight sometime around 4 AM. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the cash register. Officers are asking for the public to contact the Police Department if anyone seen or heard anything suspicious in the area. Officers Respond To 3 Fights In An Hour
Last night around 2 AM, Officers responded to 2 fights outside Cherry Lanes and one in the 700 block of 7th Avenue. One of the fights did cause injury to one of the males involved in the fight. The injuries did require medical attention at Door County Medical Hospital. All three altercations are being investigated by Officers and charges maybe forthcoming.
48 Yr Old Female Arrested For OWI 2nd with 5 Yr Old In Car
Earlier today around 1:00 PM Officers were dispatched to the highway for a reckless driver. Upon arrival Officers observed the suspect vehicle and stopped it. The driver a 48 year old female from Sturgeon Bay was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 2nd Offense after she failed field sobriety testing by Officers. The 5 year old who was in the passenger seat at the time was handed safely over to relatives.
[Update] On Standoff At 337 N. Duluth Avenue
As most of you already know the Sturgeon Bay Police Department was dispatched to 337 N. Duluth Avenue for a welfare check on Monday afternoon around 4:00 PM after Officers were asked to check on a 40 year old Sturgeon Bay male named Christopher McNulty. Prior to Officers being dispatched to the Duluth residence, McNulty had brandished a handgun and had told the homeowner to leave. Due to prior threats of harming himself Officers were asked to investigate.
Upon arrival Officers attempted to make contact with McNulty. As Officers did so McNulty immediately began to fire at Officers using a handgun. McNulty continued to shoot at Officers as they retreated to cover. Officers on scene surrounded the location and asked for further assistance by other Officers. The Sturgeon Bay Police Departments Special Operations Team, Door County Sheriffs Department SWAT Team, Kewaunee County Sheriffs Department SWAT Team responded to the scene. Brown County Sheriffs Department and Green Bay Police Department also assisted with the use of Green Bay PD's Bear Cat an armored vehicle and the Brown County Sheriffs Department Bomb Squads robot.
Around 11:30 PM, after multiple attempts to make contact with McNulty SWAT team members used the Bearcat to break down the front door of the residence. Soon after the front door was broken down McNulty emerged from the living room. McNulty continued to not comply with Officers orders and was subsequently tased by SWAT team members and was taken into custody.
McNulty is currently being held in the Door County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond. The district attorney is still reviewing further charges. Currently McNulty faces multiple felony charges.
