Officers Investigate Thefts From Vehicles

On February 3, 2012 at 7 AM, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 5th Avenue for a theft complaint. Upon arrival the complainant stated his unlocked vehicle had been entered overnight and numerous items had been taken. A GPS Unit, Lexar Flash Drive, and coins totaling around $8.00 were taken from the vehicle. Officers were able to take a few items from the vehicle left by the suspect as evidence.

About 30 minutes later Officers were dispatched to the same area for another theft complaint. Officers found that the suspect again entered an unlocked vehicle and took a pair of sunglasses, GPS Unit, and a camouflage folding knife.

Later Officers were made aware of a third incident in the same location where the complainants radar detector and cell phone had been taken from the car, which was left unlocked overnight.
