Rapid Rivers Man Arrested For Burglary


On January 12, 2014 at 6:45 AM, Officers were dispatched to a Burglary at the Holiday Music Motel. Upon arrival Officers found that a man had entered the motel and took an undisclosed amount of money. The man also attempted to take further items, but was thwarted when a motel attendant confronted him. Officers retrieved numerous pieces of video surveillance footage from the motel and from downtown establishments and began to canvas the area looking for the man.

At 9 AM, a Trooper from the Wisconsin State Patrol observed a man walking near Dyckesville fitting the description of the man Officers were looking for. The Trooper advised Sturgeon Bay Officers and the 34 year old Rapid Rivers, Michigan man was transported back to Sturgeon Bay. Investigators interviewed the man and obtained a confession from the man about the burglary to the Holiday Music Motel. Officers recovered the stolen money and arrested the Rapid Rivers man for Burglary, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana. The Rapid Rivers man was incarcerated at the Door County Jail.
