No Dogs Allowed Signage
Now Posted in Martin Park, No Dogs Allowed in City Parks
Recently at some
events in Martin Park, citizens seemed confused as to whether or not Dogs were
allowed. The ordinance has not changed, but it is now posted, “No Dogs Allowed
in City Parks” to clear up the confusion. Thank you for your patience.

Oh "Deer"
This fawn was attempting to cross Green Bay Road by the Shell Gas Station in attempt to follow its mom and survived the heavy traffic. Officer Crabb relocated the fawn to a wooded area to avoid attempting to cross the road again in peak traffic times. No citations were issued, just a verbal warning for failing to yield and being inattentive.

Officers Helped Register Bikes
Sturgeon Bay Police Officer Jennerjohn and Officer Deibele offered bike safety tips to a group of youth from the Bicycle Adventure Class held at Sunrise School. The Officers helped the kids register their bikes before they ventured their way back to school.
Bike registration is free to the youth and adults at the Sturgeon Bay Police Department and is beneficial if a bike is lost or stolen. Information needed to register is your name, address, phone number, make and model of the bike, and the serial number.

Found Tablet
An Apple Tablet with a black otter box case was found at Otumba Park around 7:30 pm on July 15th. The tablet is password protected and the individual claiming the tablet will be asked to enter the password.

Roll over accident
On the July 14 at 3:23pm, officers were dispatched to a two vehicle injury accident on N 5th Ave @ Kentucky St. One vehicle rolled over and ended up on its roof. The driver of that vehicle, a 55 year old male from Sturgeon Bay, was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 91 year old female from Sturgeon Bay, was not injured.
Preliminary investigation shows the vehicle that ended up on its roof was southbound on 5th Ave with the right away, when the eastbound vehicle on Kentucky St failed to stop for their stop sign, striking the vehicle and causing the roll over. Citation(s) are expected to be issued upon completion of the investigation.

Parking Closure On 3rd Avenue
This Sunday, July 16th, the parking stalls on the
West side of 3rd Avenue from Jefferson to Quincy will be blocked off
with orange cones for the safety of the Door county Triathlon
participates. Staffing from the Sturgeon
Bay Police Department and Parks Department along with volunteers will be
monitoring the intersections. The
closure is estimated to be from 5:00 am to 11:00 am.
Triathletes Invade Door County This Weekend
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is asking all motorists to be patient this weekend, especially Sunday, when the Door County Triathlon roars through town. Here is a list of roads that will be disrupted with Tri activity. Be cautious of bikers and runners, or just avoid if possible. Stay safe!

Fireworks Fun After The 4th Is Costly
Two individuals received citations on July 12th for lighting fireworks off in the city limits. The Sturgeon Bay Police department was lenient during the 4th of July holiday, however will now be enforcing the ordinance.

Help Wanted: Suspect Needs Identifying
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is asking for your help in identifying a suspect in recent thefts from Walmart and Econo Foods.
Last month the suspect did a push out of infant formula from the stores. Last night he was back at Walmart and went for electronics. The suspect was able to remove security devices off of a set of Home Security Cameras.
The vehicle driven by the suspect appears to be around a 2012 Silver Chevy Impala with all dark tinted windows.

On July 3rd, 2017
Officers responded to a report of a gas drive off. The suspect in question was
operating a black Ford or Chevy pick up truck pulling a white or mint colored
Boston Whaler boat. The suspect was seen walking into the store, but when the
attendant was gone using the restroom the suspect walked out without paying.
