Officers Arrest Green Bay Man After Stealing Bicycle


On June 27, 2013 at 7:24 AM, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Maple Street for a bicycle theft. The owner of the bike reported the theft to dispatchers and provided Officers with a description of the bicycle and offender. Officers began searching the nearby area and received additional calls from other homeowners in the area that the male had left the bicycle in the back of a residence. Further calls stated the man had grabbed an axe and had then dropped it nearby after the homeowner had confronted the man.

Officers made contact with the male on Ironwood Street on the west side of Sturgeon Bay. Upon making contact with the subject the Green Bay man refused to comply with Officers orders and began to fight with Officers.  Officers tased the man in order to gain his compliance and arrest him. Officers transported the man to Door County Medical Center due to the mans mental state. The Green Bay man was eventually transported to a hospital for treatment of his mental condition. Charges of Disorderly Conduct, Resisting An Officer, Obstructing An Officer, and Theft have been referred to the Door County District Attorneys Office in this matter. No Officers were hurt in this incident.
