At 9 AM, a Trooper from the Wisconsin State Patrol observed a man walking near Dyckesville fitting the description of the man Officers were looking for. The Trooper advised Sturgeon Bay Officers and the 34 year old Rapid Rivers, Michigan man was transported back to Sturgeon Bay. Investigators interviewed the man and obtained a confession from the man about the burglary to the Holiday Music Motel. Officers recovered the stolen money and arrested the Rapid Rivers man for Burglary, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana. The Rapid Rivers man was incarcerated at the Door County Jail.

Rapid Rivers Man Arrested For Burglary

Sturgeon Bay Woman Arrested After Disturbance
On January 12, 2014 at 1:30 AM, Officers were dispatched to the Nautical Inn for a female causing a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers found that a 22 year old Sturgeon Bay woman had assaulted staff at the bar who were attempting to help the 22 year old Sturgeon Bay woman. After assaulting the bar staff the Sturgeon Bay woman refused to leave the bar. Officers learned that prior to Officers arrival the female had fled from the bar in an unknown direction. Officers soon found the 22 year old female and arrested her for Disorderly Conduct and Bail-jumping. The 22 year old Sturgeon Bay woman was transported and booked into the Door County Jail.
Forestville Man Arrested For Theft
On January 8, 2014 at 2:08 PM, Officers were dispatched to Pro Products for a theft. Upon arrival Officers learned that several small copper plates were missing from the business. Officers learned that the plates cost around $2000.00. Further investigation into the missing plates lead Officers to finding the copper plates at Metals America where they had been pawned by a 24 year old Forestville man. Officers interviewed the 24 year old Forestville man and found that he had indeed stolen the items from his place of work because he needed money. Officers cited the Forestville man with misdemeanor theft.

Career Day Tomorrow
Tomorrow January 16, 2014, Officers from the Sturgeon Bay Police Department will be participating in career day at NWTC in Sturgeon Bay. Around 300, 8th grade kids from Door and Kewaunee county schools will be participating in the event. Officers will be on hand to talk about what to expect while working as a Police Officer. In addition to the Police Department, the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department and Door County Paramedics will also be present at the event. The event is hosted by the Door-Kewaunee Business & Education Partnership.

Confidential Web Tips
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department would like to thank everyone who has submitted tips via the online web tip application. The information provided has allowed Officers to make arrests in numerous incidents, which have benefited our community. Remember any information provided is encrypted and confidential. The tips are then sent directly to investigators for review. As always we appreciate your help in solving crimes within the Community of Sturgeon Bay.

Marinette Man Arrested In Walmart Purse Theft
On October 16, 2013, Officers investigated a purse theft at Walmart. Officers released three pictures to the media and received numerous tips from the public. One of those tips lead to the arrest of a 21 year old Marinette man. The Marinette man was interviewed by investigators earlier this week and confessed to stealing the purse in Walmart. Currently the Marinette man is incarcerated at the Marinette County Jail on unrelated charges.
Officers would like to thank the public for their help in identifying the suspect.
