Possible Vehicle Warranty Mail Scam


On November 8, 2011 at 10 AM, Officers were informed of a potential fraud complaint by a resident who had contacted the Police Department. The complainant stated she had received a suspicious letter (Example Shown Above) in the mail claiming her vehicles auto warranty was expiring soon and she had 72 hours to respond to the letter. Officers investigated the letter and determined it to be possible a scam. Officers are recommending citizens to shred the letters if they receive them.
