On Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 7:30 AM, Officers were met by a complainant at the Police Department reference a Domestic Abuse incident that had occurred earlier in the night. Officers determined after interviewing the complainant that her 37 year old boyfriend from Sturgeon Bay had threatened to kill her while he loaded one of his firearms in the residence. Due to the incident involving weapons and the threat of violence the Sturgeon Bay Police Department Special Operations Team was activated in order to take the male into custody.
Officers were able to make contact with the 37 year old and negotiated a peaceful resolution to the incident where the male left the residence without incident and was taken into custody. The 37 year old was booked into the Door County Jail on Domestic Related Disorderly Conduct and a Felony charge of Threats To Injure.
