Retail Theft Leads To Multiple Arrests

On October 1, 2012 at 6:30 PM, Officers were dispatched to Econo Foods for a Theft Complaint.  While en route Officers were informed that a large group of juveniles had left the store in a vehicle with multiple bottles of liquor having concealed them within a backpack. Officers responding to Econo Foods observed the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it.

Officers determined the individuals involved had planned on using multiple people to steal the items as they had hoped Officers wouldn't be able to stop all of them at once. Officers arrested the following individuals:

  • 19 year old Sturgeon Bay man was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Green Bay Police Department.
  • A 17 year old Sturgeon Bay women  for receiving stolen property and 2 counts of bail jumping. The female was also a runaway juvenile at the time of her arrest.
  • 2 Sturgeon Bay juveniles were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, Obstructing Officers, Shoplifting, and Possession of Alcohol by an Underage Person.
  • An 18 year old female was arrested for Theft and Obstructing Officers. She was also issued a citation for possession of alcohol by an underage person.
All of the individuals except the juveniles were transported to the Door County Jail where they were incarcerated. Investigators continue to conduct further investigation into this incident.
