Sturgeon Bay Man Arrested For Vehicle Theft

On October 14, 2012 at 7 PM, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Utah Street for a vehicle theft. Upon arrival Officers found that the homeowners vehicle had been stolen while it was parked at Dutch's Bar. Officers went to Dutch's bar where they interviewed multiple people.  Officers determined a 30 year old Sturgeon Bay man who had left just prior to the complainant was a possible suspect. When Officers went to his residence Officers found the stolen vehicle in front of the residence. Officers made contact with the man and he denied knowing anything about the vehicle. Officers arrested the 30 year old Sturgeon Bay man on two outstanding warrants and a Probation Hold and transported him to the Door County Jail.

While Officers were transporting the 30 year old Sturgeon Bay man to jail other Officers were securing the stolen vehicle so it could be returned back to the owner. Officers determined the key to the vehicle was missing. Investigators later recovered the key and other belongings from the vehicle in the suspects residence.     The 30 year old Sturgeon Bay man is currently being held in the Door County Jail.
