Sturgeon Bay Man Arrested On Multiple Charges

On May 19, 2014 at 3:47 PM, Officers were dispatched to the area of Superior Street for a suspicious person complaint.  As Officers arrived in the area they observed the suspicious male getting into a nearby vehicle and attempt to drive off before Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers identified the driver as a 35 year old Sturgeon Bay man who had been drinking. Officers administered field sobriety tests (FSTS) to the Sturgeon Bay man, which he failed. The preliminary breath test (PBT) was refused by the driver.

Upon advising the Sturgeon Bay man that he was under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) the 35 year old Sturgeon Bay man began resisting Officers attempts to arrest him. After escorting the man to the ground and handcuffing him Officers found that the man began to spit pennies out from his mouth. Officers incarcerated the Sturgeon Bay man at the Door County Jail on Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting & Obstructing Officers.
