School Safety Grant Award

Attorney General Brad Schimel was joined by school officials from 13 schools from across the state earlier today at Highlands Elementary School in Appleton to award the School Safety Grant Awards. Local law enforcement who are partnering with these schools also attended.  Chief Arleigh Porter and Sergeant Investigator Chad Hougaard, who is also a Sturgeon Bay School Board member, were among the many from law enforcement that attended the conference which was held at 10:30 AM. Also in attendance was Sturgeon Bay School Board President Teri Hooker. Following the press conference, Attorney General Schimel signed each grant award with designated school officials.

Congratulations to Sturgeon Bay School District for being awarded $103,930 in school safety grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Chief Porter would like to give a special THANK YOU to Sturgeon Bay School District Business Manager, Jacob Holtz.  Mr. Holtz worked diligently in his preparation of this grant that had a very short window for submission.
