3 Arrested This Past Week For OWI



While many enjoyed the 4th of July weekend three were arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). The first OWI arrest occurred early late Thursday evening. Officers stopped a vehicle on the west side of Sturgeon Bay because the registered owner had an expired drivers license. Upon making contact with the 41 year old Sturgeon Bay driver Officers determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Officers administered field sobriety tests (FSTS) to the driver, which the driver failed. A preliminary breath test (PBT) was given, which indicated a .12 amount. Officers arrested the Sturgeon Bay man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 3rd offense. The 41 year old Sturgeon Bay man was incarcerated at the Door County Jail. 

At 1:52 AM on July 4th, Officers stopped a vehicle on the west side of Sturgeon Bay for driving in the other lane of travel. Upon making contact with the 40 year old Sturgeon Bay man Officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Officers attempted to administer field sobriety tests, but the Sturgeon Bay man declined to do them due to his intoxication level. Officers arrested the 40 year old Sturgeon Bay man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). 

At 11 AM on July 4th, Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on the east side of Sturgeon Bay. Upon making contact with the 42 year old Green Bay man, Officers determined he had been drinking alcohol. Officers also noticed the man had his juvenile son in the car with him. Officers administered field sobriety tests (FSTS) to the driver, which the driver failed. A preliminary breath test (PBT) was given, which indicated a .23 amount. Officers arrested the Green Bay man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 4th offense.  The 42 year old Green Bay man was incarcerated at the Door County Jail.
