UPDATE: There is another OWI ...
On May 19, just before 1:00am,an officer identified a vehicle revving its engine and squealing its tires. The vehicle drove behind Butch's Bar, where officers made contact with the 23 year old male driver from Michigan. The driver smelled of alcohol and refused to conduct the requested field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for OWI-1st offense. Additional citations were issued for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and unregistered auto.

On May 14 at 2:45am, officers were dispatched to 1st Ave at the Bay Shipbuilding gate for an unoccupied vehicle that struck the gate. When the officer arrived on scene, another officer was dispatched to a vehicle theft complaint, where the caller stated his vehicle was taking from the Brick Lot. Police made contact with the caller, a 32 year old male from Sturgeon Bay, who reported his vehicle had been stolen. An investigation would reveal the vehicle had not been stolen and the male was driving the vehicle when it crashed into the fence. The male was intoxicated and field sobriety tests indicated the male was impaired. The male was arrested for OWI-2nd offense. Additional citations were issued for hit and run, and failure to notify police of an accident. The case will also be referred to the DA's Office for consideration of a criminal charge of Obstructing an Officer for lying to police and providing false information to mislead the investigation.
On May 14 at 9:15pm, police stopped a vehicle for a defective headlight. The driver, a 53 year old female from Sturgeon Bay, had a strong odor of intoxicants. Field sobriety tests showed impairment and she was arrested for OWI-1st offense.
On May 17 at 2:20am, police stopped a vehicle for not coming to a complete stop at a flashing red light, and the registered owner was found to have a revoked drivers license. Contact was made with the driver and vehicle owner, a 31 year old female from Sturgeon Bay. The driver reported to have an occupational license, but the DOT return did not show an occupational license had been issued. The officer detected an odor of alcohol from the driver. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment and the driver was arrested for 2nd offense OWI. In addition, the driver was cited for Operating with a Revoked License and Failure to Install an IID
