Officers Respond To Attempted Break In At Vans Bar

This past Saturday around 3:40 AM, Officers were dispatched to Vans Bar for an attempted break in. Upon arrival Officers found the rear window of the business busted out by a cement cinder block. Officers were told by employees who were working in the business that someone had come to the rear door just prior to the window breaking and had knocked. Officers believe the employees scared the suspect away after the window had been broken. The owner of Vans Bar estimates the damage to the window and surrounding area to be about $400.00.

Officers are looking into whether the incident at Vans Bar is related to other thefts in the City mainly occuring on the west side.  Those thefts involved car windows being broken in order to gain access to valuables left in parked vehicles.
