An officer attempted to make a routine traffic stop Saturday
night for speeding, however the driver had other intentions and fled at a high
rate of speed. During the pursuit the
suspect struck another vehicle and continued to elude officers. Given the speed and safety of the public, the
officers discontinued the pursuit. The
suspect blew a tire during the pursuit and was eventually located by the trail
of marks the rim left in the roadway leading to his residence. The trail of
marks led officers from 18th and Utah crossing the bridge to the west side of
Sturgeon Bay. The suspect was arrested for Operating While
Intoxicated 4th offense along with multiple other offenses. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department would like
to thank the bridge tender for contacting officers with information regarding
the suspect.
