2 Arrested For 3rd Offense OWI This Past Weekend


On May 5, 2013 at 9:30 AM, Officers stopped a vehicle on the eastside of Sturgeon Bay and found that the passenger had a Probation Warrant. As the Officer spoke with the driver further the Officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from him. Officers administered field sobriety tests (FSTs), which the driver failed. A preliminary breath test (PBT) was given, which indicated a .16 amount. Officers arrested the 29 year old Sturgeon Bay man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 3rd Offense. The passenger who had a Probation Warrant was also arrested. Both men were incarcerated at the Door County Jail.

On May 5, 2013 at 4:35 PM, Officers stopped a vehicle near Walgreens and found that the vehicle had been involved in an earlier incident where the vehicle had been driving recklessly in the county. Officers made contact with the 29 year old New Franken man who stated he was just visiting in Sturgeon Bay. While talking with the driver Officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from him. Officers administered field sobriety tests (FST's), which the man failed. Officers administered a preliminary breath test (PBT) to the driver, which  indicated a .22 amount. Officers arrested the 29 year old New Franken man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 3rd Offense and incarcerated him at the Door County Jail.
