3 Arrested For OWI This Past Week


The first of the three arrests for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) came May 9, 2013 at 11:34 PM, Officers stopped a vehicle for expired registration. Officers made contact with the driver and found that he had been drinking. Officers administered Field Sobriety Tests (FSTS), which the driver failed. Officers administered a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT), which indicated a .11 amount. The 46 year old Sturgeon Bay man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).

The second arrest for (OWI) occurred on May 11, 2013 at 2:30 AM, Officers working the east side of Sturgeon Bay observed a vehicle travelling with a defective tail lamp. Officers stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver. Officers noticed the driver had been drinking and they conducted Field Sobriety Tests (FSTS), which the driver failed. Officers administered a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT), which indicated a .16 amount. The 21 year old Michigan man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) and transported to the Door County Jail.

The third and final arrest this past week came May 11, 2013 at 11:50 PM, Officers working downtown observed a vehicle driving in the other lane of travel and conducted a traffic stop on it. Upon making contact with the driver Officers found that he had been drinking. Officers conducted Field Sobriety Tests (FSTS), but due to the mans intoxication level tests had to be stopped. A Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) was given, which indicated a .22 amount. Officers arrested the Sturgeon Bay man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). The 73 year old Sturgeon Bay man was arrested and transported to the Door County Jail.
