Phone Fraud Alert!



On Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 1PM, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department for a man who wanted to report phone fraud. Upon arrival Officers were informed by the complainant that he had received a voicemail from 630-486-1900 stating he owed $3000.00 and needed to contact someone reference this at 877-601-5871. The complainant contacted the 877 number and found that he could settle this situation for only $700.00. The complainant finding the caller to be suspicious due to the vagueness of the information presented to him ended the call before giving out any information over the phone. An Internet search on the 630-486-1900 by Officers revealed multiple scam attempts where victims had given out credit and debit card information out over the phone.  As always never ever give out any personal information over the phone.  If you have any questions please contact the Police Department at 920-746-2450.
