Officers Arrest 3 Sunday Morning For OWI!



On Sunday May 13, 2012 at 12:19 AM, Officers observed a 49 year old Sturgeon Bay man operating his vehicle in the wrong lane of traffic on the Oregon Bridge. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the man continued driving until coming to stop on Redwood Street in the middle of the road. The 49 year old Sturgeon Bay man refused to conduct field sobriety tests and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).  The 49 year old was incarcerated at the Door County Jail on numerous traffic violations.

Around 2 AM, Officers stopped a truck in the parking lot near 2nd Avenue and Louisiana Street. Officers found that the driver had been drinking and field sobriety tests were conducted, which she failed. The driver of the truck a 56 year old female from Sturgeon Bay was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).  Another female a 27 year old Sturgeon Bay women was referred to the Door County District Attorneys Office on Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing Charges after causing a disturbance and interfering with Officers during this traffic stop.

At 3:20 AM, Officers were dispatched to a Reckless Driver complaint at Econo Foods. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the owner of the vehicle a 31 year old Sturgeon Bay man who had been squealing the trucks tires in the parking lots of Econo Foods and Walmart. Officers determined the driver had been drinking alcohol.  Field sobriety tests were conducted, which the man failed. The driver a 31 year old Sturgeon Bay man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).
