Sturgeon Bay Man Arrested After Snowmobile Goes Through Ice


On March 29, 2013 at 6:52 PM, Officers were dispatched to the area of Vine Court for a snowmobile, which had gone through the ice with the driver on it. Upon arrival Officers found the snowmobile submerged and the snowmobile driver walking on Claybanks Road. Officers placed the man inside a nearby squad to warm up while rescue tended to him.

While talking with the 59 year old Sturgeon Bay man, Officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from him. Officers conducted Field Sobriety Tests, which the man failed. A Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) was administered indicating a .14 amount. Officers arrested the Sturgeon Bay man for Operating A Snowmobile While Intoxicated. Officers remind citizens to stay off of the ice as it isn't safe!
