Windows Software Phone Scam


On March 4, 2013 at 5 PM, Officers were dispatched to a residence on 7th Avenue for a phone scam. Upon arrival Officers were told by the complainant that she received a blocked phone call from a female with an Indian accent. The female stated there was a problem with her Windows Operating System and she needed have the lady look into it. The complainant didn't allow the lady to login to her computer nor did she provide any sensitive information.

Microsoft or any reputable software company will never contact you and tell you about your computer problems. If you are having legitimate computer problems contact a computer repair company to fix those issues.
