Bankruptcy Phone Scam

On March 20, 2013 at 5:20 PM, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Third Avenue for a fraud complaint. Upon arrival Officers were made aware of a phone scam involving an unknown person contacting them stating they had filed a claim online for bankruptcy. Officers investigating the complaint found that the complainant hadn't filed any claims for bankruptcy.  The complainant was advised that this was a scam and found that the complainant hadn't given out any sensitive information.

Never hesitate to contact Police if you have questions or concerns over phone calls you are receiving.
