2 Sturgeon Bay Men Arrested For Obstructing Officers
On Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 1 AM, Officers on patrol downtown observed a group of males walking next to Palmer Johnson's when one of the males began to act suspiciously. The Officer went around the block believing the male was attempting to possibly drive home intoxicated. As the Officer approached the vehicle the Officer observed the same male in the driver seat and two males quickly walking towards Stone Harbor Resort. The Officer made contact with the group including the male who was in the drivers seat. The male who had acted suspiciously refused to comply with the Officers orders and then took off running from the Officer. A description of the suspect was given to other Officers working and they attempted to locate the male, but were unsuccessful.
While interviewing one of the males who stood by the car, Officers asked the male a 21 year old Sturgeon Bay man if he knew who had ran from the Officer. The male denied knowing the individual. Officers sent the man on his way and later determined the 21 year old Sturgeon Bay man indeed knew the male who had ran from Officers, which was his friend a 20 year old Sturgeon Bay man.
The 21 year old who is out on bond for Resisting and Obstructing Officers for a previous incident was referred to the Door County District Attorneys Office for criminal charges of Bail jumping & Resisting and Obstructing Officers. The 20 year old who had ran from Officers later admitted his involvement and was issued a citation for Obstructing Officers.
