On July 20, 2012 at 4:28 PM, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of North 4th Avenue for an Assault. Upon arrival Officers were flagged down by a female juvenile who was crying. The female stated to Officers that the man following her had punched her in the face and destroyed her cell phone. Officers observed the man behind her and identified him as a 17 year old Adult who Officers have had multiple contacts with. Officers ordered the Sturgeon Bay man to the ground and detained the man. Officers determined the suspect had taken the cell phone of the victims and intentionally smashed it. The suspect then punched and strangled the female victim as she attempted to get away. The 17 year old man was arrested and transported to the Door County Jail where he is incarcerated on the following charges:
- Felony Physical Abuse To A Child.
- Felony Strangulation
- Misdemeanor Criminal Damage To Property
- Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct
- Probation Hold
