Scam Alert!



On September 11, 2012 at 2:04 PM, Officers were dispatched to fraud complaint in the 300 block of Iowa. Upon arrival the complainant stated she had received a letter stating she had won $1.2 million from the
"Spanish Sweepstakes Lottery." In order to claim the prize, she had to call an international phone number and give out her bank account number. The letter was stamped in Portugal, and had no return address. Officers advised the complainant that the letter was a scam. No sensitive information was ever given out by the complainant.
